Class Descriptions

At Willow, our group classes are small enough so you will still get the individual attention necessary to help you progress in the classes. Each instructor is highly qualified and trained to pay attention to each individual.  Class maximum is 5-12, allowing the instructor to offer each client personal attention.

All group classes are 50 minutes to an hour unless otherwise noted.

PILATES TOWER MAT CLASS flows from one exercise to the next, often with transitions that are like exercises themselves. In classical Pilates, a TOWER mat workout is truly that – a workout, and you will feel as though every muscle in your body has been worked. You will perform exercises laying down, sitting, on your side, kneeling and standing. Joseph Pilates put the exercises in a particular order for a reason – to warm your body up in such a way that you are ready for the next exercise. The tower utilizes spring tension to both aid the student as well as to add challenge.

CORE CIRCUIT Interval Training has been proven to increase athletic capabilities and metabolism which results in an even stronger, leaner and more FIERCE you! This class starts with a dynamic warm up leading into different series of intervals playing with “work” and “rest” ratios intermixed with a killer core section and appropriate stretching for the finishing touch. This is an open level class and can be modified to low impact as needed. Not recommended for our pregnant Mommas.

TRX CORE is one of the most effective exercise methods. It uses your body weight in different positions to train the core during every exercise. TRX promotes “balanced” strength from front to back and side to side, training each joint to function properly. This class will burn maximum calories, build strength, give you greater joint range of motion, correct your posture, and make inches disappear.

PILATES STICK CLASS will challenge your Pilates workouts with this innovative and unique body sculpting system. In a small group format you will experience many of the traditional Pilates exercises along with other functional fitness moves for a balanced and complete workout. A good understanding of Pilates mat will be helpful in this class but is not required.

XTEND BARRE brings in elements of dance, ballet and Pilates to create an adrenaline-fueled workout that strengthens, lengthens and chisels the body. Each class features an elegant yet energetic combination of movements that enhance flexibility, improve balance, and challenge the core. We take pride in our clients’ sweat and guide them to jaw dropping results by doing everything we can to keep their bodies on point in the studio and beyond. If you’re expecting just another barre workout, think again.

PILATES PROPS CLASS will either utilize the stability ball to define, tone and strengthen the entire body or the foam roller to further challenge the core during Pilates mat exercises as well as blend Self-Myofacial Release. Both props are an excellent way to challenge the body while still focusing on the Pilates powerhouse – the core.

PILATES REFORMER CLASS is a 45-minute class that uses springs, pulleys, bars and straps to perform over 500 exercises in a variety of positions. Our Gratz equipment was originally developed to offer movement and rehab to the injured, but today it offers a more challenging workout. Because of the reformer’s attachments, it is an ideal option for those who need modifications to the mat exercises. It is also easier to increase resistance with the reformer, creating more challenging work for the advanced Pilates client.

BRAZILIAN BURN is a serious workout that is still fun and will keep you on the move. This intensive workout is an alternative to traditional boot camp classes. This Brazilian-inspired class combines cardio and dance moves with serious strength training routines to get your body svelte and ready for the beach any time of year. Please wear tennis shoes.
